Hi, I've been taking Zithromax for the past four years, I have been working in the NHS for a number of years and I've been prescribed by the GP to take it. I'm also taking cipro (or something) but that hasn't helped much either as the antibiotic is a bit of a problem. My doctor has prescribed me 500mg a day of cipro and it's been working fine. I have started taking Zithromax after the Zithromax started working and I'm now on 500mg Zithromax (which has the same effect as the one prescribed to me) but I've been told by my GP not to take it with Zithromax or any other antibiotics. I'm now on an ongoing Zithromax and have not had any side effects so I don't know if I need to take that. I also have to ask if I should be taking Zithromax for the first few weeks after the antibiotic has stopped working. Does anyone know of any good and effective things for Zithromax that haven't been there before? Thanks for any help. I'm really hoping the NHS will do something about it, I'll be doing that soon. I've been taking the antibiotic for the past 4 weeks and it has been working fine for me. I've been having diarrhoea and the symptoms have gone away but it has not been like I'd ever had before. I have to take Zithromax again and have to see the doctor again. I have no idea what to do, I'm just hoping for the help I need.

Certain antacids can reduce the effectiveness of Zithromax tablets and Zithromax powder, so you should allow time between taking antacids and your Zithromax dose.
